Michigan Young Hero Award

Did you know…..Each year, the Michigan Chapter of NENA recognizes a young child who has dialed 9-1-1 to save a life, protect property, or report a crime?  The Michigan NENA Young Hero Award is a prestigious award only given to children that are 12 years of age or younger at the time of the call, that recognized an emergency and dialed 9-1-1 to get help. 


The award winner and their immediate family are invited to the annual Michigan Public-Safety Conference sponsored by the Michigan Chapters of NENA and APCO.  The recipient of the award will be recognized in front 9-1-1 professionals from around the State, for their outstanding achievement at the annual Heroes Luncheon.   During the recipients stay, lodging and meal accommodations will be provided by the Young Hero program.
